 Lighting  -  The Forest is Dark and misty. This suggests to the audience that something supernatural and unholy will occur. It also suggest that in the opening scene something will occur that will change the boys life forever. Lastly, the foggy atmosphere shows something dangerous has been released and will cause harm and problems throughout the movie. Costumes  - The teenagers/ boys wear average clothes to communicate to the audience that the monster just targeted average teenagers who were on their way home. Setting  - The setting was at a suburban country side town where not lots of people were seen and there was a restricted research facility nearby which suggests the danger the households living there may be in!
