Denotation and Connotation

 




1)  I can see a boy clearly sad looking into the camera. I can also see houses behind and the sun shining brightly on the boy.I can also see a run down and destroyed/ corroding wall next to the boy.
 
2) I can infer that the boy is water-deprived and is clearly distressed. Also i can see he is sad and evidently needs something. Also the run down wall further shows his need for urgent help from other people and really needs some aid as soon as possible

3) Overall, this advert helps communicate to the audience of how severe of a situation they are in and clearly are in distress and need urgent help.


1) I can see a coca cola bottle and a glass of coca cola filled to  the top and splashing around. I can see light/sunshine and i can also see ice cubes inside of the cup.

2) The advert builds up on the slogan Coca cola is the best. The connotation of the splashing coca cola implies how tasty/delectable coca cola is giving the user the best time of their life. Also the sun shining directly on the coca cola suggests it is angel like and even God wants to try it!

3) Overall, the advert helps the audience to understand how delectable coca cola is on any occasion and on any day. Also the glass with ice cubes and coca cola further shows how amazing it is. This adds to the positive brand values that coca cola currently holds!
