Costumes  - The teenagers/ boys wear average clothes to communicate to the audience that the monster just targeted average teenagers who were on their way home. Setting  - The setting was at a suburban country side town where not lots of people were seen and there was a restricted research facility nearby which suggests the danger the households living there may be in!
