2) What is the definition of an influence?

A figure in social media who has a great fan base to intrigue and give content to consumers.

3) Give an example of an influencer and how many followers they have. Try and add some additional information, brand associations or other statistics if you can.

Khaby Lame has over 162 million followers on TikTok alone and is a sengalise-Italian influencer. 

4) How big is the influencer industry according to the article?

8 billion dollars is the entire influencer industry.

5) What are the problems associated with being an influencer?

Criticism due to any small misunderstanding and also not meeting the criteria for consumers .

6) Why is it suggested that audiences actually like being sold products by influencers?

They are loyal consumers of whatever products the influence uses in order to look similar to them and want to personally relate to them Blumer+Katz Theory.

7) What representation of beauty is often found on Instagram or other influencer sites?

Unrealistic and impossible to achieve as they can use Photoshop to alter their real looks

8) What is YOUR opinion on influencers? Are they a positive or negative influence on our society and culture? Why?

I really like influencer as they provide entertainment and a sense of escapism to the consumers so they can feel related and have a sense of happiness and relation with them.

The rise of TikTok and Covid has caused the media culture to be focused on generally marketing products and advertising their own items such as beauty healthcare.
